Youth Athletics — Female Athlete Focus

Building stronger, unshakeable female athletes.

Strength, speed, and confidence coaching for girls ages 10–17 across Brooklin, Whitby, and Markham. Programs are built around single-leg strength, landing mechanics, and ACL injury resilience — so she can show up to her sport stronger than the season before.

Why this work matters

The numbers behind why I train girls the way I do.

(01) Confidence

More likely to quit by age 14

The Women's Sports Foundation found that by age 14, girls drop out of sport at twice the rate of boys — driven by body image, social pressure, and feeling like they don't belong in athletic spaces. We train against that.

(02) Resilience
2–8×

Higher ACL injury risk in female athletes

Female athletes tear their ACLs at 2 to 8 times the rate of male athletes — most often on a single leg, while landing or cutting. Single-leg strength, balance, and landing mechanics are the centrepiece of every program.

Who it's for

Built for the female athlete who wants to be coached — not just supervised.

  • Female athletes ages 10–17 in soccer, hockey, basketball, volleyball, dance, lacrosse, or multi-sport
  • Girls who are starting to feel intimidated by the weight room — or have never been shown how to use it
  • Athletes coming back from a knee, ankle, or hip injury who need to rebuild strength and trust in their body
  • Competitive players whose sport coach is asking for off-ice / off-field strength work
  • Parents who want their daughter trained by a woman who actually understands the female athlete
What's included

Programming designed for the female athlete — not borrowed from a men's playbook.

  • Movement screen on day one — ankles, knees, hips, core, single-leg control
  • Programming built around single-leg strength, landing mechanics, and deceleration to lower ACL risk
  • Speed, agility, and change-of-direction work that translates to her sport
  • Strength training progressions taught with proper form — no random circuits, no hype videos
  • Confidence coaching woven into every session — how to take up space, fail, retry, and own it
  • Optional fueling guidance for growing female athletes (periods, energy, recovery)

How it works

From first call to first block.

(01)

Intro call

Quick chat with the parent and athlete to understand her sport, schedule, injury history, and goals.

(02)

Movement screen

First session is an assessment — single-leg balance, squat, hinge, landing, deceleration. We find what's strong and what's leaking.

(03)

Train in blocks

We work in 8 or 12-week blocks aligned with her competitive season — pre-season, in-season, off-season — not random workouts.

The pillars

What we actually train.

Injury resilience

Single-leg strength, hip and ankle control, landing mechanics, and deceleration — the real drivers of ACL and lower-body injury risk.

Sport performance

Strength, speed, change of direction, and conditioning that transfers directly to her game — periodized around her season.

Confidence

Coached by a woman who's been in the room. Every session is a rep at being braver, louder, and more sure of herself — on and off the field.

Common questions

Good things to know.

Why train girls specifically?

By age 14, girls are twice as likely as boys to drop out of sport — a stat published by the Women's Sports Foundation. The reasons are layered: body image, lack of confidence, social pressure, and feeling unwelcome in strength spaces. My job is to flip that. Every session is built to make her stronger, more confident, and more sure of herself — so quitting isn't the path of least resistance.

Why so much single-leg work?

Female athletes are at a significantly higher risk of ACL tears than male athletes — the research consistently puts it at 2 to 8 times higher, depending on the sport. Most non-contact ACL injuries happen on a single leg: landing, cutting, decelerating. So we spend real time on single-leg strength, balance, coordination, and landing mechanics. It's not flashy — it's protective. Strong single legs = a more resilient knee.

What ages do you train?

Generally ages 10–17. Younger athletes spend more time on coordination, body awareness, and play. Older competitive athletes get true strength and speed programming.

Where do sessions happen?

In-home, condo gym, local parks, fields, or tracks across Brooklin, Whitby, and Markham. Outdoor speed and agility work runs through the warmer months.

Do you train boys too?

Yes — boys are welcome, especially in small group / sibling sessions. My specialty and focus is female athletes, but the strength and movement work translates either way.

Can you work with my daughter's team or club?

Yes. I run small-group blocks for clubs, teams, and friend groups. Send a note with the team, ages, and how often you'd like to train and I'll put together a quote.

What's your cancellation policy?

24 hours notice for cancellations. Schedules are built around travel and confirmed bookings — emergencies happen and I'll always work with you, but please respect the 24-hour window for standard changes.
